Current Positions

Human Resources & Payroll Specialist

Lundberg Family Farms is currently seeking a motivated individual who enjoys working in a people-oriented culture, to serve as a Human Resources and Payroll Specialist. The Specialist is responsible for all aspects of payroll administration as well as assisting the human resources department in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to promote a positive working environment throughout the organization.

The main area of responsibility is payroll administration which includes payroll processing; producing payroll reports; providing audit information; I-9 compliance; processing of garnishments and child support payments; completing EDD and other agency reports; and complying with all federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Other areas include employee recordkeeping; orientation assistance; temporary staffing facilitation and other human resource functions as required.

The ideal candidate should enjoy working with people; have previous experience administering payroll; a thorough understanding of payroll and human resources laws and requirements; have the ability to keep confidential information and be detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of education and experience in the human resources field and must possess an in-depth understanding of the HR body of knowledge. PHR or CPP certification is highly desirable. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Nursery Manager

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as a (Seed) Nursery Manager on a full-time basis. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for seed purity, breeding of improved varieties of rice and field research that aids in the fulfillment of our strategic plan and is expected to be one of the go-to rice expert for Lundberg Family Farms as a resource for growing methods, variety uses, hedonics, history, genealogy, and innovation. The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience, with increasing responsibilities, in field experience which must include rice and/or other self-pollinated crops or small grains. Applicant must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, be self-motivated, work well in a team atmosphere, and be computer proficient.

The Nursery Manager will be required to work indoors in an office environment as well as outdoors in a rice production environment. Breeding of rice will be both inside and outside. Conditions range from a heated/air-conditioned office, hot and dry rice fields, humid flooded rice fields and hot, humid nursery greenhouses. The work requires both a clean, organized workspace as well as working efficiently in muddy conditions.

Senior Research Scientist

Lundberg Family Farms is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Senior Research Scientist. This position will be responsible for leading the development and execution of Lundberg Family Farms Rice Quality Research program/strategy, leveraging grain science expertise to identify short term and long term strategic opportunities in process/quality improvements, innovation enablers and new product hurdle/technologies. This position will also provide leadership in evaluation of rice varietals and rice functional performance to support delivery of consistent and value added products for our consumers and customers. The ultimate goal is to enhance the quality and value of Lundberg Family Farms rice and rice products. This position will interact heavily with the Lundberg Family Farms nursery, agriculture team, quality systems, product development and manufacturing as well as industry, academic and government research centers.

The scope of responsibilities ranges from property characterization at breeding and harvest to assessment of consumer preferences of processed rice; emphasis areas include: pre-harvest property measurement, drying, storage, milling, quality assessment, and cereal chemistry of rice and rice products.

The ideal candidate will possess an MS in cereal chemistry, grain science or related technical field and 7 or more years of experience in the food/beverage industry with emphasis on cereal science related to ingredient functionality and application/product development. Demonstrated experience/achievements in fundamental grain research, product development, process development. Rice experience a plus.


Supply Chain Quality Manager

Lundberg Family Farms is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Supply Chain Quality Manager. This position will be responsible for managing the Supply Chain Quality Program, which includes food safety risk assessments, sustainability assessments, agriculture practice assessments, supplier qualification process, material specification development, audits, incoming material quality metrics, supplier quality issue resolution and continuous process/quality/cost improvement. The scope of this role includes all raw material/packaging vendors, co-manufacturers and growers. This position is also responsible for execution of all programs required to ensure LFF compliance with the following certifications: Organic, Non-GMO Project, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Seed, Farming Practices and other technical certifications as needed.

The ideal candidate must have a BS in Food Science or related field, 10 years of relevant experience in the food/beverage industry with demonstrated experience/achievements in quality, food safety, organic and/or sustainability program management. Experience in agriculture and organics, preferred. Must also possess an in-depth knowledge of National Organic Program standards and food safety principals, allergen control and Sanitation Standards associated with HACCP, GMPs, GAP, GFSI/SQF.


Operations Services Manager

Lundberg Family Farms is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Operations Services Manager who will support the contract manufacturing production operations to achieve quality, service and cost objectives and will be an internal resource for improving existing internal and external manufacturing operations. This position will participate in the design, implementation and start-up of new manufacturing operations and be responsible for identifying proper information sources; managing research projects, budgets, and personnel; determining proper research methodology, and analyzing research results. Areas of responsibilities include monitoring contract manufacturers’ operations to identify potential constraints, supply issues and other developments that could affect LFF’s ability to meet demand; develop/maintain business relationships with Contract Manufacturers responsible for manufacturing LFF products; and ensure contract manufacturers operate in accordance with established standards and guidelines for quality, food safety, regulatory policies, customer service, cost requirements, efficiency, inventory control, material handling and reporting.

The ideal candidate must possess a BS in a related technical field, a minimum of 10 years’ experience in significant and diverse food manufacturing management experience, project management (including measurement reporting and financial analysis) and automated procurement/inventory management systems. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
