Quality Systems Manager

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual as a full-time Quality Systems Manager. This position collaborates with food co-manufacturing, packaging and food ingredients suppliers and distribution center facilities to constantly assess food safety, quality, and certification systems. This position is focused on finding opportunities to implement preventive measures so our food consistently delivers on company, consumer and customer expectations. The Quality Systems Manager will also lead investigations when issues arise to uncover the root causes and implement robust improvements to prevent future occurrence. The Quality Systems Manager is also responsible for managing the company wide Natural Integrated Pest Management Program, facilities janitorial services and food manufacturing waste removal programs.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Food Science, Quality Management, or similar experience (Master’s Degree preferred.) Candidates should have a minimum of seven years in Quality Systems management within the food industry, as well as extensive knowledge in related food quality standards, food production management experience, and HACCP/food safety management. Experience in agriculture and organics is preferred. The successful candidate will possess excellent managerial, leadership and communication skills; and have three years of managerial/team lead experience. Candidates should also have knowledge of and experience in trace/recall, critical process measurement, hazard analysis, and product design/specifications.

Seed Program Specialist

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as our Seed Program Specialist. This Seed Program Specialist will play a pivotal role in many different functions in the Nursery, from headroom and seed production, breeding nursery support, greenhouse field trials, and seed storage facility maintenance. Some of the specific job duties include:

  • Assist in seed preparation, planning, planting, maintenance and harvest of headrow and small plots for breeder seed or foundation seed production
  • Assist in seed preparation, planning, planting, maintenance and harvest of breeding nursery for variety evaluation and new line development.
  • Assist in execution of field and greenhouse trials of other crops (e.g., quinoa, beans and cover crops) through seed introduction, planting, harvesting, data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain Nursery seed storage areas, freezers, and other facilities through minor repairs, sanitation, and routine maintenance. The successful candidate will possess a BS Degree in Agriculture, Candidates should have previous lab and field experience and have a methodical and thorough working habit. Candidates should have excellent attention to detail and recent experience in Rice Culture is preferred.
