Small Grains Developer

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking a full-time Small Grains Developer. This position will be responsible for developing small scale applications for drying, storing and processing small grains to be ready for sale to consumers, and scaling up capabilities as domestic supply grows. The Small Grains Developer will be responsible for meeting all food safety, quality, labeling and nutritional requirements, and business and profitability targets.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field. Three to five years of experience in a food-related industry in a technical role such as product development, process development, product commercialization, quality assurance or food manufacturing. Two or more years of manufacturing or process development experience preferred. Looking for a candidate with high energy, positive, can-do attitude; who is a team player and has the ability to take ownership and accountability.

Buyer/Planner

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as a Buyer/Planner on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for monitoring requirements utilizing material requirements planning and determining inventory parameters. The Buyer/Planner will review and analyze purchase requests and requisitions, manage purchase orders, communicate delivery schedules, expedite material, process returns, resolve receipt and payment issues, and manage supplier performance. This position may also investigate and develop sources of supplies, prepare and issue bid requests, and review quotations.

The successful candidate must possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND one year of related experience; OR, five years of related experience. Previous manufacturing, procurement, and/or accounting experience and prior experience in the food industry is preferred. The successful candidate will have familiarity with MRP/MPS and Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Candidates should have knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures and understand manufacturing planning practices, including Bill of Material usage. APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification is preferred.

Farm Manager

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual as a full-time Farm Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities of planting, growing and harvesting rice and row crops. The Farm Manager will assist in the development and execution of the Annual Farm Plan and perform manual and skilled work in the area of rice and row crop production including irrigation, planting, leveling and harvesting. This position will oversee and manage the Farm staff and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

The successful candidate will possess at least five years of rice and row crop farming experience; organic farming experience preferred. At least three years of supervisory and management experience required. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of farm equipment operation and maintenance, familiarity with irrigation systems, and excellent communication skills.

Farm Technician

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to serve as a Farm Technician on a full-time basis in Butte and Sutter Counties. The Farm Technician will be responsible for performing manual and skilled work in various areas of crop production including irrigation, equipment operation, equipment repair/maintenance, and research. This position will ensure the proper irrigation of fields and complete repair and maintenance of equipment under the direction of supervisors. The Farm Technician will be responsible for operating farming equipment during the planting and harvest seasons as required.

The successful candidate will have previous farm experience related to rice production, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid California Driver’s License; Class A License preferred. Candidates must have the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and farm equipment and must possess excellent communication skills.

Farm Administrative Assistant

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking a full-time Farm Administrative Assistant. This position will be responsible for supporting the Farm Area of Focus and Lundberg Family Farms owned and operated properties located in Butte and Sutter Counties. This position will provide support to the Farm’s management and staff by developing, coordinating and maintaining record keeping systems, coding and submitting invoices to Accounts Payable, and managing the calendar to coordinate operations. Additional responsibilities will include processing electronic and hard copy mail and facsimile and preparing and editing presentations, data summaries, reports and analyses.

The successful candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience providing administrative support, experience handling highly sensitive information, and knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and SharePoint. Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills, have strong follow-up skills, and work well under pressure. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand the nature of a family business, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, and be a team player.

Rice Cakes Mixer/Operator

Swing Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to perform as a Mixer/Operator in the Rice Cakes Department on the swing shift. Job duties include monitoring rice moisture, filling and adjusting popping machines, monitoring product quality, utilizing the computer inventory system, maintaining logs for rice usage and mixes, and other duties as required.

The successful candidate will have basic reading, writing, math and computer skills, work well under pressure, and have the ability to communicate appropriately and demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers and others.

Current or previous experience in a Mixer/Operator position is highly desired. This position requires the ability to lift, carry and hold up to 40 lbs. and the ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion.

Rice Cakes Sanitation Worker

Swing Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to perform as a Sanitation Worker in the Rice Cakes Department. Job duties include maintaining safe, secure and sanitary conditions in the department; maintaining a working knowledge of processes and equipment; cleaning and maintaining the pack room and popping room and other duties as required.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to multi-task, become forklift certified, work well under pressure, and have the ability to communicate appropriately and demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers and others.

This position requires the ability to lift, carry and hold up to 40 lbs. and the ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion.

Graveyard Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to perform as a Rice Cake Packer on a full-time basis for the graveyard shift. Job duties include monitoring and controlling product quality, utilizing the computer inventory system, ensuring that correct packaging and coding are used on the product being produced, and other duties as required.

Applicants must possess basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills; work well under pressure; have the ability to communicate appropriately and demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers and others. The position requires the ability to lift, carry and hold up to 30 lbs. and the ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion.

Nursery Assistant

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to perform as a Nursery Assistant. This is a seasonal position that will last for about 5 months. This position is responsible for assisting the Nursery staff in preparing for and executing the nursery plan for selecting, developing, and growing of varieties of rice, beans, and quinoa that support the company’s sale of rice and new grain products. The Nursery Assistant will assist in seed preparations, planting, maintenance and harvest, help maintain greenhouses, and take and record field notes.

The successful candidate will minimally possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have the ability to lift 40 pounds, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess methodical and thorough working habits. Individuals must have experience with rice culture or the ability to learn and be able to operate the equipment used in this operation safely and with minimal training.

Nursery Intern

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual as a Nursery Intern. This position is responsible for preparing for and executing a variety of projects primarily associated with the growing rice seed program and other value-added crop research projects. Success in this position will contribute to the company’s ability to maintain certification of selected varieties, improve on current varieties and provide sufficient seed to meet production requirements.

The successful candidate will be pursuing a degree in Agriculture or related field preferred. Qualified applicants will have excellent written and oral communication skills; have an attention to detail, as well as a familiarity with rice culture or ability to learn.
