Quality Systems Engineer

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as a Quality Systems Engineer on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for delivering product quality, food safety, regulatory requirements and productivity to meet our customer/consumer expectations and business needs. In coordination with the Director of Quality Systems, this position is responsible for defining key consumer quality requirements and food safety system execution during new product development, commercialization, in-house manufacturing and contract manufacturing. The Quality Systems Engineer is also responsible for ensuring accurate nutrition and ingredient labeling, legality of health/wellness related claims and application of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools.

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related technical field or have at least 7 years of relevant experience. Candidates must have 3 or more years of experience in a food manufacturing environment. Experience with product development and commercialization and with specialized nutritional database labeling software is beneficial. The successful candidate must possess strong knowledge and application of food safety programs, allergen control, quality engineering principals, and sensory science; SQF and HACCP Certification preferred.

Corporate Counsel

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual to serve as Corporate Counsel. We anticipate this person will work an average of 20 hours per week. This position is responsible for providing routine legal support to the company and coordinating other legal matters with external General Counsel and other specialized counsel. This person will draft and maintain commercial agreement templates for frequently used agreements, ensure compliance with all federal, state and local filing requirements in jurisdictions where Lundberg transacts business, and advise the company on commercial transactions.

The successful candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and have at least two years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. The successful candidate should have demonstrated competency in corporate and commercial law, be able to construct business contracts, and have a license to practice law in good standing in the state of California. Preferred candidates will have experience with a vertically integrated food company with food manufacturing and/or farming operations, have experience with corporate compliance, and experience working with regulatory and administrative agencies and third-party certification or testing organizations.

Machine Assembly Technician

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as a Machine Assembly Technician on a full-time basis. This is a temporary position expected to last less than a year. Job duties include assembling popping machines to completion, testing to ensure finished units produce finished products that meet Lundberg’s quality standards, assisting in maximizing popper building efficiencies, and communicating with the Machine Assembly Coordinator on the status of individual machine build progress and parts usage inventory levels.

The successful candidate must minimally possess a 2 year degree from a vocational technical school with major focus on electronic/electrical technology and industrial maintenance or equivalent training or experience, have experience or education in Hydraulics and/or Pneumatics design principals and equipment, and preferably have PLC programming and electrical controls experience. The candidate must also possess basic computer skills for project tracking and reporting.

This position requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds and work in constricted/confined spaces.

Project and Continuous Improvement Engineer

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an experienced individual to perform as a Project and Continuous Improvement Engineer on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation, study and installation of capital projects for process and facilities improvements through final project qualification utilizing standard continuous improvement processes and tools for all assigned projects. This position will be responsible for technical support for all facility and manufacturing initiatives including participation as engineering representative on assigned projects and for the development and implementation of plant standards and best practices programs applicable to the design, operation, and maintenance of the facility of process equipment.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ABET- accredited program; Mechanical Engineering preferred. Candidates must have at least three years of experience in process and/or project engineering, process/system development, product development, quality engineering or manufacturing; experience in food manufacturing environment required. The successful candidate will have experience with plant manufacturing systems working with plant operators, maintenance, quality, sanitation, safety, and leadership staff.

Rice Cake Maintenance Supervisor

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking a full-time Rice Cake Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance staff and ensure optimal maintenance of all rice cake equipment. This position will be responsible for supervising and training all Rice Cakes Department mechanics to maintain equipment across shifts, maintaining maintenance logs, and assisting Rice Cakes Department Supervisor and Manager in the development, assessment, acquisition and implementation of new methods, procedures and equipment. This position will also work collaboratively with other department mechanics to address mechanical, electrical and control projects/ issues in other departments.

The successful candidate will minimally have a 2 – year degree from a vocational technical school with major focus on electronic/electrical technology and industrial maintenance or satisfactory equivalent training/industrial job experience. Candidates must have PLC programming experience, supervisory experience, and experience working in a food production environment.

Nursery Intern

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking an individual as a Nursery Intern. This position is responsible for preparing for and executing a variety of projects primarily associated with the growing rice seed program and other value-added crop research projects. Success in this position will contribute to the company’s ability to maintain certification of selected varieties, improve on current varieties and provide sufficient seed to meet production requirements.

The successful candidate will be pursuing a degree in Agriculture or related field preferred. Qualified applicants will have excellent written and oral communication skills; have an attention to detail, as well as a familiarity with rice culture or ability to learn.
