Organic Long Grain Brown Rice

Long Grain Brown rice enjoys great popularity because, after cooking, the whole grains remain fluffy and separate. Because of these properties, long grain brown rice is especially suitable in stuffings, pilafs, salads, casseroles, and stir-fry dishes.

Cooking Instructions

  • 1 cup Lundberg® long grain brown rice
  • 2 cups water or broth
  • 1 tbsp. butter (optional)
  • salt to taste

Put all ingredients in a pot with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes. Do not remove lid. Remove from heat and allow to sit, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork. A rice cooker may be used with the same water-to-rice ratio. Yield: 3 cups.

Would like to know the cooked nutrition info on this product. I've never eaten uncooked rice before. :)

The rice will triple in size during the cooking process so one serving of uncooked rice (1/4 cup) will yield approximately 3/4 cups of cooked rice. As long as you prepare your rice with just water (not broth or salt), the nutrition information for 1/4 cup of uncooked rice is the same for 3/4 cups for cooked rice :)

Is tris product 100% whole grain?
  4. Lundberg Family Farms 11 May

Hi Will, Yes! This product is 100% whole grain. Brown rices are whole grain because they contain the bran layer which is removed to make white rice. Enjoy!
