Creamy Parmesan Risotto

Enjoy the delectable flavor of rich, aged Parmesan cheese in this elegant Italian-style risotto. We created this delicious gourmet side dish by blending quality ingredients like Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, and spices with our creamy Arborio rice. You'll love how the individual kernels plump, creating a rich, creamy sauce while the rice grains remain separate and al dente. Preparing this tasty risotto takes about 20 minutes and requires minimal stirring. It's an easy, convenient way to add gourmet flair to any meal.

Cooking Instructions

In a heavy 2 qt. saucepan, sauté rice in ½ Tbsp. olive oil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add 2½ cups water and contents of seasoning pouch. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cook uncovered for 20 minutes stirring occasionally until rice is tender. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese is desired. Serve piping hot.

Why is this in the organic isle at Safeway if it is not organic? Or is the fact that it contains carbon enough to declare it organic?

I love this, but now I am wondering if it has GMO ingredients, in addition to the pesticides.  Please can you make this product organic and GMO free?  It is really good, but it is going off my shopping list for now.

Hi Iah! We definitely are working on getting this flavor of risotto certified as Non-GMO. Once we do, this webpage will be updated (probably before you see packaging with the Non-GMO Project Verified stamp) so please check back occassionally.

I also like this product, too, but it doesn't say anywhere that it's whole-grain.  Is it whole-grain?

    1. Hi Jill, This product is not whole grain. If you are looking for a whole-grain product specifically, why not try our brown rices? All of our brown rice varieties are indicated as whole grain on our website with the Whole Grain Council's Whole Grain Stamp. I hope you continue to enjoy our products!

I'm wondering if by 'natural flavors' your product contains any MSG or other such chemical flavor enhancers?
  7. Lundberg Family Farms 09 Oct

Susan, none of our products include MSG or any chemical flavor enhancers. The 'natural flavors' in this are cheese and dairy flavors, which are used to boost the cheesy and creamy flavors. Hope this helps!

Hi, is this product wheat free?

I need something both gluten and wheat free.

  9. Lundberg Family Farms 29 Oct

Maria, there is no wheat in this product. 'Gluten-Free' means a product doesn't contain the protein found in many grains such as wheat, rye, barley, spelt, kamut, oat, and a few more. This means that anything labeled 'Gluten-Free' is by definition also wheat-free. If you're avoiding all gluten in your diet, it is also good to know that if something is labeled 'wheat-free', it may still have other forms of gluten besides wheat. Hope this helps!

There is a lot of controversy about maltodextrin and whether or not it contains gluten.  I know many times when I eat a product containing maltodextrin I feel quite unpleasant.  I am learning what products contain gluten derived maltodextrin.  The package of Creamy parmesan that I have lists maltodextrin in the ingredients. Can you tell me what the maltodextrin derives from?  Why does my ingredient label differ from what yours says here on the site?

    Thank you - Dawn Smith

Hi Dawn, we apologize for the discrepancy between the website and your packaging with this product, we recently updated the ingredients list. Your packaging is the correct ingredient list, and we are updating the list on here right now. The source of our maltodextrin, used as a part of the creamy parmesan seasoning, is corn. We hope this helps!
