Calrose is a medium grain rice noted as the founding variety of the California rice industry. After cooking, Calrose rice grains hold flavor well, and are soft and sticky, making it good for use in sushi or other recipes that require a stickier texture.

Cooking Instructions
- Combine rice, liquid, and butter or oil in a pot, and bring to a boil.
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer, and cook for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat (keep covered) and steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
Rice Cooker Instructions: To prepare in a rice cooker, use the same liquid to rice ratio.
*If rice is too firm at the end of cooking, it may be necessary to add 1-2 Tbsp. liquid and cook longer.
